Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council

The Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council recognises the valuable contribution of the VCS, therefore commits to investing annually to ensure the ongoing offer of support and provision to the VCS via the Partnership. This includes supporting direct delivery of local projects. These funds are allocated to small and large organisations/community groups via the VCS Commissioning Board.

BYP Classic Car Club

Gain practical skills and knowledge, raise confidence and increase opportunities for Further Education or the workplace. BYP Classic Car Restoration offers an automobile education programme for young people over 12 years old. Embrace the heritage of these wonderful classic cars through hands on restorations. Team work throughout the restorations fosters a feeling of pride and a sense of achievement. Our intergenerational activities help to raise the individual’s communication skills.

Hinckley and Bosworth Community Transport

Hinckley and Bosworth Community Transport

Hinckley and Bosworth Community Transport is a charity which began in 1988. Its purpose is to provide community transport for the elderly and disabled population in the Hinckley and Bosworth area, aiming to reduce social isolation along with maintaining and improving quality of life. The Hinckley and Bosworth Dial a Ride Scheme is a community transport service provided by volunteer drivers using their own cars.

Hinckley Town Tennis Club

This great project has been funded by the VCS Commissioning Board and Won the ‘Dragons Funding Den’ at our last years event. The ‘Achieve with us Group’ (Supporting adults with learning difficulties) enjoys playing tennis at the Hinckley Clubs facilities along with experienced members and qualified coaches. This enthusiastic hard working team have achieved so much in this sport and are now taking the opportunity to play other club members including the young people’s teams during the Summer Holidays. They take part in a number of joint activities whilst gaining confidence, staying fit and having fun.

Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Sailing

The VCS Commissioning Board has funded the LRYSA to further develop the clubs offer to young people. The LRYSA has strived to ensure all young people get the chance to experience sailing. A new course will be offering bespoke sailing courses to young people who are on the Autism spectrum to experience a range of challenges, build confidence and have fun. This is in conjunction with The Priory School aiming to help support them to thrive and achieve their full potential.

Leicestershire Lifeguards

Leicestershire Lifeguards is a voluntary unit established in 1985 to meet the need for qualified lifeguard cover to oversee open water lifesaving exams. The Unit is a member of the Royal Life Saving Society UK and one of over 100 units registered within the National Lifeguard Training Programme.

The Markfield Mayflower Club which runs exciting activities for the older generation throughout the year and has received funding via the HBBC/VCS Commissioning Board.

Sport in Desford

Sport in Desford

A Community Participation Project within the village of Desford. The VCS Commissioned project,t HEART SMART, increases motivation and progress with up to 25 Heart Smart patients providing them with a fitbit for recording and monitoring progress during their 12 week exercise course. The outcomes of the project for the beneficiaries are life changing, enabling improved physical and mental fitness through fun, friendship and a range of positive activities.
